Child Safety Digital Investigations Analyst
Our Digital Investigations Team work with social media platforms, governments, and non-profit organisations to help them understand and navigate digital threats. Our highly skilled team work at the cutting edge of digital threat and online harm, helping clients detect and respond. We use innovative technology and have a deep understanding of everything related to social media and online infrastructure. We're not just about the platforms themselves, but also about the behaviours and intent of those who use them for adversarial outcomes, and those they target.
As an analyst working on child safety, you'll identify and investigate threats to children online. These range from grooming and exploitation to the involvement of minors in online harm networks and violent extremism. Your work will help our clients act before harm spreads and has a direct, real-world impact.
What you'll be doing
• Identifying and tracking online threats involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming and child exploitation.
• Researching the involvement of minors in sadistic online harm networks and nihilistic violent extremism (NVE), including coercion, extortion and the encouragement of self-harm.
• Map and assess the novel TTPs of bad actors, such as use of language, coded terms and methods of evasion.
• Identify emerging risks and subjects of interest ahead of our clients.
• Deploy our in-house technical capability on investigations.
• Produce concise and contextualised threat reporting.
• Supporting client engagement, interaction and presenting intelligence back to clients
On day one you will bring
• Experience in online research, digital investigations, open-source intelligence (OSINT).
• Knowledge and experience of online child safety, ideally with depth in child endangerment, sadistic online harm or youth radicalisation.
• The mindset of an investigative journalist, a curious and persistent investigator.
• The ability to write clear and concise threat assessments.
• A background in research, safeguarding or intelligence role, whether in law enforcement, journalism, NGOs or tech platforms.
